QC Profile
1. Invisible Grilles Are the Best Choice For Your Home
If you’re exploring window grille options, you might have encountered the term ‘invisible grilles.’ While they aren’t truly invisible, you’ll need to look closely to spot the fine, thin wires that run across.
2. Invisible grilles won’t rust (but only if you get the right ones)
Invisible grilles are crafted from stainless steel and are encased in plastic or rubber for added protection. Although stainless steel is more resistant to rust than other metals or alloys, it can still rust depending on its grade. It’s important to note that not all stainless steel is created equal. Common grades for invisible grilles include 202, 304, and 316. While 202 and 304 may rust after prolonged exposure to the elements, 316 stainless steel will not. Therefore, ensure that your invisible grilles are made from 316 stainless steel for the best durability.
3. Choose whether you want them fixed in place or moveable
Fixed invisible grilles are securely mounted and cannot be moved once installed. These grilles are typically used for balconies without existing window structures or in homes, such as certain condominiums, where additional structures cannot be added. They are installed using cables anchored to a solid concrete wall, as they cannot be affixed to less sturdy materials like wood or fake walls.
4. Invisible grilles are plenty hardy
In addition to being crafted from durable stainless steel, invisible grilles with a 2-mm thickness can support up to 180 kg. Bailing’s invisible grilles, with a 2.3 mm thickness, can hold a maximum weight of 234 kg.
These grilles cannot be cut with ordinary scissors, ensuring safety for households with young children during unsupervised crafting sessions.
However, invisible grilles can be cut with wire cutters. Therefore, they are designed primarily to keep occupants safe inside the home rather than to deter intruders from breaking in.
